Inkadinkadoo - Stamping Gear

Morning friends,

One of my lovely ladies emailed a photo she had taken whilst on holiday a couple of weeks ago and it inspired me to make this card.....

The photo she sent me was full of tulips.  The main image stamp is an old Hero Arts one, one that I must have had for at least 8 - 10 years, which I stamped onto water colour paper in a very light ink and painted with my water brush and markers.  When it was dry I drew over the lines in black ink, to make out that I'd drawn it myself - what a cheat!

I used the Inkadinkadoo stamping gear system to stamp the background.  I stamped every other gear with a second impression of ink to make it a bit more interesting.

With my Stamping Gear out and another card in mind, I made this card using it.....

You can see the stamping more clearly on this one.  I stamped onto decorative background paper, which seems to be a favourite of mine with this system.

I love this Stamping Gear system, I demonstrated it on Saturday at my Crop and I know it's on Ideal World and Create & Craft TV today - but you can always order it from me if you attend my events or live close enough to Abingdon to collect :)!

Have a great day and I hope you find time to be crafty!

Cameo Silhouette - New home card

Hello Friends,

I'm coming out of my little Cancerian shell, which I had to retreat to over the last couple of weeks!  Sometimes "life" affects me and I disappear under my little protective shell!  You can't change me, I have been trying for the last 24 years to change myself, but it is impossible at times and I just have to go with it and hide for a little while!

Today though, I signed up for the next Online Card Class, it's called "Summer Card Camp 2", which doesn't actually start until 8th July but there are a couple of pre-class challenges before we begin and it was enough to pull me out from under my little shell and get me back to my "happy normal self" - lol !!!  The pre-class challenge for this week is a colour combo and it is just what I needed to kick me into action to make a card, which should have been made at least a week ago!

Here is my card.......

We were not given any names of colours just spots of colour.  My interpretation of those colours were Pool Party, Whisper White, Calypso Coral and Basic Grey - Stampin' Up colours!  There was an additional lighter coloured grey, but I didn't have a lighter grey so left it out.

I designed the whole card in the Silhouette Software and cut out the bits with my Silhouette Cameo, the clouds are from a Stampin' Up embossing folder and the little block of flats is a wooden die cut.

I've got some more cards to make and I might well use that colour combination again, whilst all the packs are out on my desk ;)!

Hopefully, I'll be back to crafting again this week, so should have a few more cards to share.

Why not sign up for the Online Card Class yourself, we all have great fun over there!

Wishing you all a happy crafty week.

Silhouette Cameo Sympathy card

Hello Friends,

There was a thread on the UK Silhouette Friends Facebook page yesterday, talking about how best to use this decorative. downloaded cross from the Silhouette Store.

My suggestion was to use it with the Silhouette Pens, here is my card....

My feeling about the decorative design is that it is far to busy to cut with the Silhouette, but perfect for the pens.  To do this I used the "Cut Style" button in the Silhouette software.  I resized the image, ungrouped it and then clicked on "no cut" on the edge of the cross so that I could draw the decorative section.  Then I swapped around and the blade and pen and "no cut" option.

I think there is nothing better than spending quality time with my Cameo, I really enjoyed making this card, but I'm hoping that I won't need to use this card any time soon ;)!

Hope you find time to craft with your Silhouette soon.

His & Hers - Day 4/Silhouette Cameo Fathers day card

Hello Friends,

I was bowled over with excitement in the classroom yesterday!  Jennifer taught the most beautiful cards using partial die cutting and using a word processing package for the sentiment.

As soon as I saw the inspiration I knew I could make a great card using only my Silhouette Cameo, here is my card......

I used the Silhouette pens for the sentiment and used the Edit Points feature to partially cut the diamonds.

The paper is a freebie download and the card stock is Island Indigo from Stampin' Up.

Hope you have time to craft today - enjoy!

His & Hers - Day 3

Hello Friends,

Oh gosh this is my 3rd post today, you are getting value for looking today ;)!

Today in the classroom the cards were ideas for his and her sympathy cards, I wish they'd have had this class yesterday, my life would have been easier but I'm definitely not complaining!

There were 4 or 5 great videos again today showing great cards and techniques.  One of the tutors talked about having sympathy cards already made, just in case you really don't feel like making one when you need one and I can certainly agree with that!

As I've already made a female sympathy card today, I chose to make a male one for today's homework.  This type of card is way out of my comfort zone, I really like clean and simple, so wet water colour stamping seems messy to me.  I wasn't going to do the water colour splashes at the end, but I messed up the card front with the dirty edge of my stamp block, at the top, so decided a bit more splattering wouldn't make it any worse......

I really like the design of this card.  It has a little pocket on the side for a prayer card.  I didn't have any prayer type stamps so used this one from Stampin' Up, which just says that I care....

This is a closer look at the little card inside...

I might see if I have time to make another card with the inspiration given in today's class later, so check back and see if I do.

Thanks so much for looking.

Happy crafting.

His & Hers - Day 2 (card 2)

Hello Friends,

I'm back with the card I found hard to make.  The card sketch I used was shown in the His & Hers class yesterday by the very talented and super lovely Shari Carroll.....

this is what I put inside.....

I'm off to post this now, to the most lovely people who are suffering a very sad loss.

Hope you find some time to craft today.

His & Hers - Day 2

Hello Friends,

Thank you for all the comments on my last post, I was over the moon having so many;)!

Here is a card I made with inspiration from Day 2 of the His & Hers on-line class.....

I really wanted to try this type of stamping, it's called Kaleidoscope stamping.  Jennifer shares a great video on how to do this technique in the class.

This was supposed to be a card for him, which is why I used string instead of ribbon to keep the little vellum sentiment in place, but to be honest I still think it's a little girlie!  I suppose I could use if for a couple!

Hope to be back later with another card, I started a very difficult one after making this yesterday afternoon, but I'm not happy with it, so will probably start again!  When I say difficult, I mean one I really don't want to make, it's a sympathy one.

Oh well, back to tidying up before I can carry on with that, hope to be back later.

Happy crafting and thanks for looking.
